London: Winter Wonderland

The weather may be brisk and blustery, but London transforms in November and December, getting a red, green, and white make over. Before your next continental weekend, sample traditional British mince pie (there’s no meat in it), mulled wine, and have a look around. It’s lovely.

A sample list of what’s on:

Christmas Lights at Oxford Circus

Ice Skating at Somerset House, Ice Skating at the nearby Natural History Museum

Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park , with rides, food, drinks, and crafts on offer, which ought not to missed

Christmas Fair at the Chelsea Psychic Garden

The Winter Festival on the Southbank, featuring festive markets (mostly featuring food), loads of holiday themed events, and the Southbank lit up in all its glory.

The Reindeer at Covent Garden (Santa is there too)
